Sweet, tell us some more about it Ed, who is the maker?

Wild Ed

All I know is it is in great shape and was supposed to have been made in Tennessee over thirty years ago.  It belonged to the father of the man I purchased it from.  I can find no marks on the gun unless they are under the stock somewhere.  It appears to be high quality and the bore looks as if it was fired very little.  It does show that it has been carried some but has a nice curly stock.  There is a little play in the lock hammer that appears to be a Siler.  I bought it for a fair price and could not help myself.  I will find out how it shoots in the near future.  ET  ucrzy

nice looking rifle ! got a .40 cal flinter of my own with questionable heritage  ;D all I know is that its over 30 years old ,and has a cherry stock . the only markings on it are the numbers 1850 on the bottom flat of the barrel . would`nt have known that if I had`nt taken it apart for a bit of refinishing of the wood ! do like the color of your stock dntn ,and with a bit of age they start to look like originals !

That's a rifle after my own heart.  It just looks good and begs to be taken into the woods.  You did good.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.
