Looking Great!!     Give us a rundown on your rifle and gear . Also what is the make of the stove and how do you like it? We had one with the upper warming ovens on top for many years , I"ve kicked myself many times for ever selling it.  there is nothing like a pie backed in a wood fired stove . Keep up the good work , and don"t ever get rid of the stove .

You might want to shorten the straps on your horn, pouch and haversack - running is easier that way chrrs

well heres the run down on my gear.  the hat is i guess what is called a bridger style wool/felt, that i steamed the brim to the shape i like, alittle down in the front the keep the sun out of my eyes. my shirt in linen, dyed with walnut hulls. my pants are knee leanth drop front style with leather leggings over. my moccasins are center seam with a stiff sole. i actually have a few shirts if i want to go to eastern events i just put on the longshirt, western events i can use either the long or the shorter.  really the only thing that doent work at eastern events is the rifle. its a 45 cal percussion rifle made by miroku in japan.  it aint a bad rifle to start out with. i also carry a 62 cal smoothbore pistol that i tuck into my belt ( not pictured here).  as for the rest of my equiptment, i pack a small shooting bag and i large powder horn i made. a leather haversack/possibles bag, and i belt axe that i have on a shoulder strap ( ive ecided to leave my tomahawk alone, its heavey, long and really doesnt perform as many tasks as the belt axe.) i also use a large knife on my belt ( its an old hickory) a belt bag for carying my pistol loads ( usually 1 oz.of #6 shot, its mainly a camp weapon, and those #6s make the nightly camp raiders live hard), and a fire bag which caries my flint and steel, some jute twine and char, tobacco pouch, pipe and blowing stick. one i get me a new longgun ( im looking for a 62 caliber trade gun) ill forego the extra belt bag and can keep all my shooting stuff in my shooting bag.   im curently working on a better shelter ( the last time i camped last month i had to settle with a modern tarp, they are bulky nosiey and a royal pain), and a pack frame to carry my shelter, blankets, and camp supplies.  by the way, if you go to events that aint very strict but dont allow the blue specked granite wear, my wter kettle is one but if you cook it with water in it over a few smokey fires, they will never know the difference. well thats basically it.  thanks for the complements, ill try to get some more pics up soon.

oh i forgot the stove!!!!! we purchased this stove from the amish out of caneyville ky. if i remember correctly they build these. ours is the "pioneer princess" model. its got the warming cabnet at the top, large oven full cooktop, water resivouir on the back, and a 17 inch woodbox.  its great we use it as our primary heating and cooking during the winter but have to use it sparingly in the summer, or itll roast you out of the house.

Lookin good..How about some close ups of your gear.

The rifle is interesting, can you give any more information about it? (Oh Yeah, nice hat too!)

the rifle im carrying is a 45 cal. Percussion rifle. Full stock but i believe kit began as a kit as the stock and forearm are two pieces. The brass connector has since been afixed permanantly and then covered with rawhide to apear as a stock repair in the field. It has a 34 inch browned octagon barrel. It is marked miroku, made in japan. After some research i found this company produced these rifles in the 70s, and also produed winchester and browning shotguns of fine quality. Many gunsmiths and hobbists ive spoke to prefer the miroku made shotguns over the belgian brownings. All in all its a fine shooting rifle with no hang fire and very forgiving. The only thing ive changed to it mechancally is replaced the front and rear sights which has for me improved accuracy. It really isnt built after any style of longrifle, its just what i call a generic.

Thank you for the info, I will look on the web for pics of it, I find it very interesting.
