OK... Went to rondy in CO. this weekend. Had a great time... until,,,
Woke up Saturday morning to 100 mph gusts, ripped my wall tent ridge front & back, snapped the ridge pole in half. Decided discretion was the better part of valor in this case, as the forecast was for more of the same. Packed up in the midst of those same gusts of wind. As I was taking down the marquis, a gust lifted the roof off the center pole then dropped it back down, coincidentally not on the pole. Chalk up a hole thru the roof canvas. Several stake loops ripped out, stakes came loose, debris flying every where... pnic
Finally got 'er packed up, said our goodbyes & hit the road. From Montrose, Co. to about 40 miles south of Flagstaff, AZ we fought the wind. At times on the Navajo Nation the sandstorm was so bad we were down to 35 mph & that was pushin' it. Rolled in about 11 last night...

OUCH!  sorry to hear about the  damage.... Anything we can do to help?

Great pics Rev. Looks like a great time time was had by all. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I hope you can get it fixed cheap...

William

Sorry to hear about the damage your equipment sustained, 100mph gusts- wow- I can't imagine what that is like without a tornado overhead!

When I lived on the Phoenix area there was a wind storm like that in the northern part of the state, took out 18 wheelers and stranded people for days.

Re  thanks so much for sharing the pics.  looks like a great place to go and have "fun"!   Happy Canyon ??  how's about big wind canyon!   Hope damages can be repaired without to much damage to pocketbook.   PS   Like the looks of your door greeter   "woof, woof"  nice looking shephard.

I was in Florence Co that weekend and we had the same problem. One gust came through that took out almost all of our celotex target backers as well as taking out several canvas tents. I shot my flinter on Monday in the worst of it and managed 3rd place at 100 yds and 2nd place at 25 yds despite the wind.
Despite being 63 I also took 2nd place (out of eight runners) in the mountain man run which is a personal best.
We had about 185 registered shooters.
If you discount the wind we had a good time, but it was one of the most difficult I have been in for the shooting.
