We and the family are gettin stuff together for our first "rendevouz"-type experience, so after that I'm gonna try and get more trekkin and stuff done somewhere round here

Joe and I are going to start this fall, before deer season fires up. I already hunt "period" -- Joe is going to start that, too, this year -- we figure to take baby steps getting into it. One thing already planned is to go up on the property we hunt, when we figure we've got our gear right, and just camp. That at least will give us an idea how well what we've got will actually work, come time for meals and sleep -- and we're close enough to home that if something's a complete disaster we can pack it in and re-think.

When it seems like we've got it together enough to manage a weekend without major damage to bodies or pride, we're thinking one of the National Forests relatively close to us. This year might not amount to much but next year we figure to get into it a lot more.

One more thing to look forward to -- life is good.

That sounds like a good idea, Mongrel. Sean and I would like tp start out like that too. Now that his Tulle is almost done, we start out with just tree rat hunting and go from there.
