Just got a striker Doc Woodchuck. I told him ta sent me one that sparks good.

I've collected quite a bundle of cotton Tees.  If anyone needs any charcloth I'll make up a few batches.  If it will ever stop raining I'll make up a "how to" on making char cloth.

Someone had a post about making char must have been on the old site
I know it has to be sealed in a metal container to make

It doesn't really have to be sealed... matter of fact you have to have a small hole in the container.

This will tell you how to do it.  I can't find the website with photos.  It's really easy to do... I use a quart paint can with a hole in the lid.  I've also used several other "cans"  Metal candy cans, fruit cake can, even a little can that had a candle in it. :)

See that smoke coming out of that can?  In a few seconds it caught fire.  Let it go until the fire goes out then poke a nail in the hole and take the sucker out of the fire and let it cool.  COOL.  If'n you open it before it cools it'll flash and all you will have is ashes.

glad ya like it Liljim   was some hard steel to work with ... but the spark it throws be real decent ... musta came from an old radio or sumthin...
