I'm a spice cake fan and this one is on on the lines of that. I will be making this one this fall at the Algonquin mill festival here in Carrolton Ohio. Goes great with a cup of hot tea. oh did I mention I'm a huge tea party girl, Its a thing I've done since I was a little girl, Always trieing new teas and gutsy enough to try to make my own, I would much rather do herbs than medication, and I'm a huge herb fan too, sorry, my rantings I know........

Gingerbread

2 1/4 cup flour
1/3 cup molassas
3/4 cup hot water

1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1 t baking soda
1 t ground ginger
1 T cinnomon
1/2 t salt


mix together in a bowl, bake 1 hour in dutch oven over medium fire, or unless you have my boys......a bon fire! bless their little cotton pickers!
