Had great plans...meet up with 3 or 4 other guys and trek into Clear Creek at Horse Crossing 3 mi south of Blue Ridge Ranger station.
Reality..Trip planner broke ankle 3 days before trek..one had other commitment in way.  Two didn't come because Didn't know if anybody else could show and knew the guys they did know wouldn't be there...

Well I went solo...See Bugs under traditional cooking for several pictures...

Nice during middle of day, but cool at night (cold)

Evidence of visitors.

Great Pictures! Even Solo it must have been a good time - makes you wonder how the mountain men spent so much time alone.

Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

Beezlebob,
No reason we can't get together and revisit that area.  Two of my bothers and my grandson saw the pictures and we went back there the next Oct. and camped again. Great time had by all. That is about 10 miles from the get together for squirrels I mentioned in my PM to you.

That's the one..  nice place and seldom see anyone once you get a mile or so from where the trail meets the river just below the cabin ruins... plenty of fishing and swimming holes, many way over over your head..10' plus deep.

I really missed my chance when I lived in Phoenix and not going exploring places like that.
