re:garage sale flintlock

Hi everyone! I cleaned up my garage sale guns and took 2 of them to the range to shoot. The flintlock is a little hard on flints (18shots) but it shot pretty well only a couple of misfires (probably me, need to get used to loading a flinter) the cva perc kentucky shot great, just need to get a new stock and trigger guard and a few misc items for it. I'll keep working on them and shooting them. I might see if i can find a one piece stock to fit to the cva kentucky. later happy

Contact Freddie Harrison or Jack Garner about a cheep stock.  I contacted Freddie a while back and told him that I needed a plane piece of maple and a second would do as I was restocking a po boy.  He sent me a really nice stock with some grain to it it is a second but will workout so that the flaw will not be seen.

Hi Razor and Doug! Yea thats my 35 dollar garage sale guns. The flintlock seems hard on flints, it seems to like a 5/8 flint bevel down lasts about 18 to 20 shots. I'll keep experimenting with it. Thanks doug i'll try the places you listed to find a stock for the cva kentucky, whoever had it sure butchered the stock, they cut it so thin at the wrist it looks like it might break in half and butt plate fit is horrible, plus i don't much like the 2 piece stock. later happy

Hey Slappy, I may have another trigger guard around for that. I already have one promised to Brett, but I think I have another around...I will check. It will give us an excuse to meet each other anyway!
