My inexpensive postal scale came today - weighs up to 90 lbs - and it weighs lbs & 0Zs to 1/10 0Z.  All I've ever had to weigh guns and other devices was a bathroom scale; not accurate with lighter weight objects.  So I weighed all the MLs today to see how for off I've been in my estimates.  Here's what I found:

1.  .50 early flintlock Lancaster   =   7lbs 2.5 oz.
2.  .45 halfstock percussion   =   6lbs 2oz.  [25" X 15/16"kids rifle]  Fits me perfectly.
3.  .45 late flintlock Lancaster (go-to rifle)   =   7lbs.
4.  .40 late Lancaster flintlock   =   8lbs 1oz.
5.  .36 SMR flintlock   =   6lbs 4.5oz
6.  .62 early American smoothbore   =   8lbs 1.5oz.
7.  .32 SMR   =   6lbs 10oz.
8.  .54 US M1841   =   10lbs 6.5oz.
9.  .45 H&A "Heritage Model" percussion underhammer   =   7lbs 13oz.
10.  .50 flintlock pistol   =   2lbs 8oz.

Some of the weights are rounded off to the nearest oz.  Anyone else know the actual weight of their companions?

I know my wife's weight but if I shared it she would beat the crap out of me.
My dog weighs 37 lbs. She's my only other companion.

My keenly mourned "Micky" the basset was, IIRC, around 50 lbs.  "Rascal" the pom/shih tzu mix was 4-5 lbs, "Sissy" the min pin was 8-9 lbs.

Just to keep things accurate, I'll rectify an item on my post concerning weights.  The .40 flintlock Lancaster does indeed weigh 8 lbs 1 oz.  The .62 smoothbore which came in at 8 lbs 1-7/16 oz is actually lighter than the .40.  The .62 has a heavy sling with lots of leather and the metal button and front swivel.  The sling is weighty and likely - I'm not going to the great trouble of removing simply to weigh it - weighs at least 1/4 lb or more.  This would put the smoothbore at around 7 lbs - 8 to 12 oz, not bad at all - I actually suspect  the guns true weight is UNDER 7.5 lbs.  Just thought I'd clear this up.
