I went to an auction sale and spied this little jewel in the rough. I waited around all day and finally it came up for sale. Luckily a lot of the crowd had left and the only one bidding against me was an antique dealer and she just wanted to make a quick buck.  I got it at a good deal . It was sold as a wall hanger and I was happy to get it for that.  But when I got it home and examined it closely I think it might have another shot or two in it. The main spring is broke but if I get that fixed I think it is shootable..  It is a 410  child's shotgun.  have not ever seen a muzzloloading 410. I haven't found a maker.. It is only 45 inches long and is light as a feather . If it could talk I bet it has some good tales. Does anyone know where I might get a main spring for it. I would love to take  hunting one more time.

Try this for starters. You may find someone in this thread that can help.

Many years ago (something over 23 years) I was at a flea market and found a Japanese copy of a Tower pistol that didn't stay back when cocked. Trying it I figured that the mainspring was broken or missing and figured that if I couldn't find a mainspring, it would look good on display. I got it for $5.00 and went home and bought a mainspring from Dixie Gun Works that was made w/an oversized lug to be fitted to an assortment of locks. A little stoning and I got it to fit. Worked great as a noisemaker on the 4th and w/shot loads. Might want to check it out. Good luck, hope you get her working.

I can't help with finding a spring but do think you got a neat little gun.  It appears to be in decent shape and wanting to be fired.  You might find it to be great squirrel gun.  I'd also be anxious to try out prb.  Congratulations.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

Redhawk,
If you live anywhere near a big rendezvous site like Friendship, bring the broken spring or the lock to the encampment. There are numerous vendors with 'junk' boxes that you can search through to find such things.
