Cleaning patches...make your own?

After decades of using whatever I could get my hands on I started buying pillow ticking a few years ago.  I do expect to be using some old t-shirts soon in my fowler (which is being built).  I also have a rifle that prefers a bit thinner patch, but by an insignificant amount.  I'll be experimenting with old denim jeans, soon.
Young guys should hang out with old guys; old guys know stuff.

My wife works at a thrift store and they get a lot of materiel in the form of scraps that they can't sell.  She brings home the flannel and fleece for cleaning patches.  Old sweatshirts and worn flannel sheets work great too.
