Bulldog lady

OK got it stretched out and shoulder seams done- can't find PC correct for 1820's women leather dress that isn't covered in beads.  Suit me if just make as man't LONG shirt and leggins . Can't think they did all that work for everyday working dress,( skin hides, cook, gather wood, tend kids, make more clothes, and all the woman things they did back then!).  Question need  your help on , do I sew seams on sides or just use ties?  Appreciate any input as needing to get this done in next 3 days.  Thanks guys and gals.

Standard work dress was 1 hide front, 1 back, with suspender like shoulder straps. Pretty basic.

Thanks  now do I sew it shut on the sides or just put ties(thongs) might get pretty drafty in winter pnic

I'd tie it shut, but it's also 106 degrees out right now. That draft might be pretty welcome!  ;D

Thanks so much  one last quick question before start cutting ties, not being a lady sometimes if I absent mindedly  wipe my thumb on the dress after firing my flintlock how do I clean off the smudges?  Again I do appreciate all your help- have a safe and happy 4th flwa
