First, I don't know how to post pictures except with my phone and send via email. No digital camera.  My son is a guide, and he brought me some deer antlers, so I just finished making a powder measurer that will look nice on my possibles bag. Also built a ball bag with scrap leather, I got a couple of copper, roughed it up on the bottom half, epoxied it in the mouth of the bag and then sewed the top up tight. Gotta go find a cork today to fit the copper fitting. Also just finished a nice powder horn kit. It was sure fun making these things for my mountain man stuff.

That is great,  was it difficult making the powder horn?   I never attempted that,  have the makings,  just not the get up and do.    wish I could help with posting pictures from a phone,  but have no idea how to, either.    modern technology,............so much to learn,  and the rest of our lives to do it.

seems easy enough,     but then again,  I did not see Mr. Murphy with him.

Hi Pilgram; first of all I sent a pm with my email. and, the powder horn wasn't hard at all, mostly I had fun building it. The end cap piece on the big end took some time, I started with a square block of wood and cut it down til it fit in the end, used my wood carving knives, then drilled 1/8 inch holes around it and used dowel pins in the holes to hold  it in place, looks nice. When you send me your email, I'll send you a picture of it. Thinking of another one for fun, have two already though. I think you'll enjoy the project. Let me know sir. thmbsup

thanks for the reply,  but I have one request.   I have been called many things, and most I answer to,  but SIR..  That  fits me like a Tuxedo fits a Monkey.    Thanks

He says "SIR" just to get you to relax a little. Don't worry Pilgrim.
Brian, I have made a couple of horns too. they are fun and not too hard..
Nothing wrong with making another one..Nice gift to help outfit a newbie when they have nothing but  want to get into BP shooting.  I also fix broken guns and will gift them to the interested newbies I think will really use them.

I tried making a powderhorn from scratch using a horn I salvaged from a dead cow. It must have had too much of a curve to it because I couldn't drill a hole through the small end without perforating the belly of the horn. I gave up.  srndr
