(susp) Seen sumpthin in a gun magazine that sent cold shivers down my spine.Wont say which mag,but this feller was reviewing an 1858 Remington revoving carbine cap and baller.Looked real good in his period correct outfit including a heavy leather glove on his left hand.........anybody guess where this is goin??? Yep,was firing said carbine like a regular rifle, left hand supportin tha barrel. Can we say hot gases at barrel/cylindrer gap my young apprentices? Wonder if this great soot lord ever heard of a chain fire,or ever seen flame cuttin of a top strap???? Thats what that little hook at the bottom of the trigger guard is for.I always held em in kind of a modified weaver, off hand wrapped around firing hand and that hook and snugging the butt into shoulder.I'm i wrong here folks?

You are right and the least thing I would worry about would be hot gasses escaping
Chin fire can mean the loss of digits

well the gauntlets will protect against gas and a hot barrel, I don't think it would do much against lead.
