I am suprised no one answered this one.  The simplest form is an envelope type, a square folded in half then sewed around bottom and side. Then turn inside out so sewed seam is on the inside.  punch several holes around top for a draw strinn.  This requires rather soft pliable leather, however thicker leather can be turned inside out by soaking it in water before turning.  A nother method is a round bottom bag.  use a lid like from a jar the size of the bag you want. Make the top 1/4 " longer than the circumfrence of the circle bottom, And as tall as you want the bag.  The leather needs to be fairly flexable because when sewn needs to be turned inside out also to put the seams on the inside.  Again use hole punch to make the holes for the draw string.  A third method that works very well for thicker leather is a four piece bag that does't have to be turned inside out.  cut two pieces of leather the same size to match.  Make the bottom rounded and a little wider at bottom than the top.  Cut two more pieces rectangle the with of the top and about 1 to 11/2" width, this is better in a thicker leather than the bag body. this type is sewn around the out side except for the opening.  If done right, the top of the bag is stiff and holds the balls in place.  the mouth of the bag is opened by squeezing together the two sewn sides much like the old plastic coin purses did.  When released, the two thick outer leather pieces at the top will close the bag automatically.  Sorry I don't have any pics.

Thanks That gives me a few options there.

Bull frog gives excellent advice. I will see if I can get some photos of other types and post them for you.

Jeanne made this little canvas bag for me.  First she just cut out a small piece of canvas.  Put a few evenly spaced button holes on one end.  Folded the canvas over and sewed up the two sides and rounded the bottom.  Trimmed the excess canvas and turn the whole thing inside out.  I cut a small piece of limb.  Drilled a hole in the piece.  I ran a strip of leather through the button holes and though the hole in the piece of limb.  Tied a knot in the leather and there you are.

I like that one Gene. Simple but practical and good looking...think I'll make one or two of those.
