myya

Thank you to all TMofC. I am Myya.
What a great warm welcome from you all.
I am a Michigander from long ago.
I have been in muzzleloading for almost 5 years now. I had a set back for the last 2 years due to physical problems. A good friend of mine sparked an ol' interest of mine in muzzleloading. He found this old Thompson muzzleloader in the trash one day and dug it out. He took the ramrod and the wedge pin and threw the rest in a closet. So for almost 4-6 weeks he never told me of his treasure he had found. Till one day he emailed me a message, while I was recouping at a local VA facility, of this piece of junk of a muzzleloader he had found.
So it was another 2 months before he could get me the newly found treasure up to me. He showed up on my door step, after my release from the VA facility, with this old ratty looking, well worn, scratched up, blue fading treasure of a rifle. A Thompson Center Renegade rifle in a fabulous .54 caliber configuration. He said, "He has no use for it, since he was left handed", so he gave me the rifle.
So I said," Thank you kind Sir!' and told him, "Have a Great Day!", and slammed the door in the rear on his way out the door!!!!
Took my new found treasure to my private break room, away from my fabulous spouse (that would be my wife of 33 years), and began to save this found friend of old.
Well enough about that for another time.
I am a retired jack of all trades kind of person. Do a little bit of this and a lot of that. I currently competitively shoot and coach archery. I have built 2 compound bows out of spare parts and use them in statewide competition. I have been into archery all my life since I weened off an old Bear recurve bow of old. I do everything in archery from working on my own bows to making strings and cables to fletching my own arrows.
I have shot rifles, pistols, revolvers, shotguns, long bows, recurve bows, compound bows, steel tip darts, billiards, and finally my favorite past time is muzzleloading.
Oh by the way, I do all this from my power wheelchair. I spent sometime in college where I earned a degree in Mathematics and Speech Communication. But before this a spent sometime in the U.S. Marine Corps. I think this is where I  get my love of competition shooting.
Well I have talked long enough at this time. Don't want to tell everything about me now. Have to save something for later.
Thanks again for allowing me to join your elite group smoke pole shooters.
Till later, Shoot Straight and keep your powder dry!
Myya

P.S.  I will tell you more about my new found friend another day. I promise!!
