Who knows,
Is the twist of a 54 New Englander 1:48?

Yes sir it's 1-48. The fast twist one was the tree hawk with a 1-24 (tree bark camo). Slow twist was penn hunter 1-66. All barrels will fit the new englander. I think the early penn hunters were oct at the barrel channel and later were round that fit the new englander.

It's amazing that they ( S&W) won't even support the old guard TC
Thanks for the reply's boys.

T/C is night and day from what it was before S&W. I contacted them 14 times via email to get them to honor their lifetime warranty. Finally had to send a registered legal letter threatening action along with print offs of the email correspondence. With the old TC company you could just call them up, explain what the problem was and you were done in 5 minutes. Now they must train them how to beat you out of the warranty so you'll give up out of frustration.

As posted by flahipneck as soon as S&W took over they deleted the info online for the twist rates and pretty well every PDF download for parts and user manual on all their traditionals besides hawken. If a fella uses the load data for that as a guide for his seneca I bet they'll regret the decision to act like TC traditionals ever existed.

just took a look at their page ! truly disappointed ! doubt if I`ll ever deal with them again ! I consider their actions a betrayal , and thats something I wont forgive or forget !

I know and agree...I just don't get it. All about the $ I guess, unless it's an inline, they don't want to know about it.

Forget about customer loyalty its about the bottom line.We are a niche market and outfits like S&W couldn't care less.Once you realize that TC as we used to know it is done and do business with the people, some of them on this forum, who do care things look better.
