Moose painting on the easel

I've been studying up on these beast and got the inspiration to paint one. Can you imagine one of these beast stepping out in front of you. I hope you enjoy this one. I've been wanting to do a moose in memory and in honor of a good friend who passed away this year. His nickname was Moose. So this will mean a lot to his family. Mark bugged me for years to paint a moose. I'm sure he will like it even now.

Moose are MASSIVE...it's one thing to see one from a car or truck window when driving along a road, it's entirely different when they are up close and personal. We're literally talking about an animal that weighs 2000 plus pounds. I enjoy watching them when they are in a bog, or a beaver pond, usually with something green dangling from their mouths. I can tell this is gonna be a good one too.

I've seen a few in the wild. One that walked out to the edge of a bog on a glacier lake we were fishing , he was about 30 yards away and the biggest thing I'd ever seen. He had his head down under water when I 1st saw him and thought it was some old tree trunk untill ....... and he walked over to the edge with this look , LOL
Full Day yesterday from noon till the end of the Skins game. I wish I could paint full time. But for now weekends and evenings.

This one is moving along much quicker then the others. I have to stop myself and study it as I go. My wife told me not to move so fast that I lose my personal touch. I told her when I lose that I will quit.
