I was told many years ago to wash the factory sizing out of all cloth used for patches, because that stuff is abrasive to the bore- especially at the muzzle. Any input on this?

I cnnot tell a lie   :P  I was taught by Old Salt and haven't used anythig but spit and I'm still playing with the patches  I started with some I bought which were to easy to push down the barrel and he gave me som .018's that I am working with now and seem to be a lot tighter, hopefully the rain here will let up so I can do some fine tuning and hit waht I am aimin at....

Actually I do a little of two or three.  I sometimes used precut-prelubed.  Then at times I use precut- lubed at the muzzle.  At times I try to do a little cutting at the muzzle (not to good at it).  I usually lube the patch strip for more than one load just before starting the ball.
