It's the same trick they've used for years. They can't insert a virus directly into an email since an email cannot run code, so they have to put it in an attachment. Then they have to come up with some clever way to convince people to open the attachment to let the virus run. The solution is don't open attachments that seem suspicious. A real invoice will usually have a .pdf extension, and a real image would usually have a .jpg extension. Those are always safe. If an attachment has a different extension then it could be a virus.
