Hoorah!  I won a copy of Machinery's Handbook on ebay ($15).  It is an older one - an hardcopy, 15th Edition from 1957.  I had been looking for an older edition that included information on forging.

Congrats on the win. There is a ton of info in the older versions that has been removed in the newer printings. I have a 'Machinist's Handbook ' from 1940's that has a huge section on 'Wartime threads' and a 1930's revision that had sections on steam engine fittings and such. thmbsup

One great place to look for this type book is at the library book sales. I picked up a Millwright's handbook from 1910 that has tons of interesting stuff in it. Huge section on leather belt driven manufacturing equipment run by water. Blacksmithing, foundry work, forge welding, brazing etc. I believe the book prices  were $5 .........a box (susp)

I have a copy of "Practical Blacksmithing", the original 4 volumes combined into 1, that I got at
a yard sale for 25 cents. I buy anything like that I find.
