I think thats a great idea , thmbsup like thet horn very much . I've done several horns with relief caving , simple stuff like celtic crosses and some Native American symbols . also brass spouts to keep the horn from splitting  if you happen to jam the plug in too hard . (susp)
Otteer , I thought you were supposede to draw blood when doing a horn?  Saves on using dye to antique them rdfce

Thank you all for the nice comments. It feels good to have done something yourself and get complimented. All of my gear I have handmade myself. It is a Distelfink. See my first post for a detailed explanation. Wish I could fix the couple of slips I made with my knife, but I think it adds character too. Managed to not cut myself, so that was a plus.

Never worry about a couple slips here and there!....You look at close-ups of original horns and there is all types of slips and line run-over.  I and other Horners even do it on purpose to make it look right for HC type engraved horns! FYI, if you want to darken your engraving more, just take a little charcoal dust with a drop or two of linseed oil in it and rub into your scratchings!

Thanks for the tip Horner! I was wondering how to get it a little darker.
