Anybody got a good pattern for winter shoe pacs? I've got a full heavy moose hide I want to use to make them out of. I looked at the tutorial on the hi-top side seams that Micanopy posted up and may make them also. Got a real heavy wool blanket to make liners out of and plan on putting a heavy sheepskin inner sole in it. My feet get cold real easy.

Check out the patterns in Bakers "Pilgrams Journey" book one. The're the ones I folowed and they work great. The're also on his videos. Hope this helps.

Another great little book to check out is 'Craft Manual of North American Indian Footwear, by George M. White'. Great little book with detailed instructions for any type of moc you may want.

Made my own based on an Apache moccasin design just made bigger with the cuffs lengthened and 2 liners from sorrel boots in em--1 the size I wear and the other bigger so the smaller one could fit inside it. The soles are pigskin, and wear like iron. While the may not be pretty or H/C they are extremely warm, in fact I cant wear em til it hits at least 20 below.
