Reading through some of these posts brought to mind a couple of great books that I read sometime ago...well...probably been 20 years or so since I read them the first time.  I reread them a few years ago....anyway....From Sea to Shining Sea and Long Knife (I believe Long Knife is correct..it's been awhile).  Both are by James Alexander Thom and worth looking into.  From Sea to Shining Sea is about George Rogers Clark around the revolutionary war period and covers the Lewis & Clark expedition as well.  I am not great with book reports, so look em up on Amazon for a better description.  Thom has other books too, but I believe these are the only two that I have read. Long Knife also involves the Clarks and they are both real page-turners.
