The striking weapons display is about finished, Next will be spears and lances
dntn Those are cool, especially the ball clubs thmbsup
The one on the left dose not show well in the picture but it has the head of a turtle carved into it.
nice work "old Salt" You are indeed a man of man talents. :applause:
I have to give credit to old Two Toes for the carving of the face of the turtle. Here is one of his. Other than the initial cut out with a band saw it is all hand carved
dntn Great work Ol Salt, that first gunstock club looks like the one in last of the mohicans.Looks like its ready to take out any Huron actin mean.lol
Yes any one of the will mess up your hole weekend. and adjust your attitude
those are some impressive persuaders !
thmbsup What's the wood on the last one, walnut? ironwood? wicked looking weapons, beautiful work on all of them, amazing what you can do with wood, isn't it, just started working with wood several yrs ago and am always surprised thmbsup
The one in the last pic is made from oak. I can't tell you what Two Toes used for the stain, as it is one of his secrets,
Those are all very nice, and deadly! Great display Salt! thmbsup
I think they are beautiful!
Thanks Heather. But I thinks you have morbid sense of humor just like me.

Nice clubs Old Salt, I too like the old war clubs. There is a site that precarves the old style war clubs, I think it is Tiger Hunt or something like that. They sell gun stocks and have about four diferent styles of these clubs that are susposed to be from original ball type clubs that they have ruff carved on machines (that you finish) in several different woods. Price runs around 65 dollars apiece. Not a bad price to start a collection of my own.
All but the ball club on the left, which is hickory, came for 1, 2X8 8 ft long @ $7.00 and couple of cans of stain that I had on hand, and maybe ten hours of work. Thanks to Rick aka Two Toes I gained a lot of valueable
knowledge
Can't beat 7 dollars, I think these older style weapons are very much under appreciated and under estimated as to effectiveness.
The long on at the bottom of the pic is my rendition of an Aztec sword
and it was said that they could nearly cut a man in half, so yes they were formidable weapons in there day.
