Yup... but Bulldog Lady say's I can't play with it until at least tomorrow..... gotta whittle a piece of wood to take the place of the flint and set up the Video to see how bad I flinch if I flinch...

I figure I'll do in O'l Crowkiller first thing in the morning and then git busy on this here rifle... hmmm what am I gonna name her?????

That looks like the traditions tennessee rifle.
There good shooters.
Ive got one,  at 120 yards it hits right on the target.
Probably do more, I just havent tried any further yet.

have you tried yet? just dry fire it a few times with the flint, you will see how much you jump or not through the sites.

Of course I did... as soon as i got it out of the box (and checked to make sure it didn't have any barrel obstructions)... did not see any flinch....  gotta go get some rb for it.... then make some smoke!

Jim dont worry about flinching.
A good tuned Flintlock with real black powder in the pan,(not the substitutes) will fire so fast that it is hard to tell the difference between it and a caplock.
The ball should be leaving the barrel before the flint finishes scraping the frizzen.
Theres no time to flinch.
If you dont flinch with a caplock, you wont flinch with a flinter.
Now if your having problems with your lock and your having delayed ignition, you may flinch.
But if everything is working properly, dont worry about flinching.
