Just got the forum started and with the heat I haven't had an oppertunity to start on another attempt at my brain tanning...
Maybe one of the Mod's could move the tanning posts here to give it a push?

You can start from where I get the hide off the animal and go form there.
dntn LOL! Some times that is the most difficult step in the process!
wtt I figured I would have my hides tanned smoked and all used up but the fact of trying to keep the lights burning and Uncle Sam happy seem to take all my time.
I got my buffalo hide soaked and stretched then it turned hot, had some home improvements to take care of, then took that little jaunt down the Buffalo River.
After my first attempt ended in a fiasco I am now ready to start again, thanks to Micanopy, who sent me a nice skin to work with. I am now waiting on the weather to cooperate and will get out and buck this hide then start the tanning process. I will endeavor to set up the video system and get some shots of the process.
I have had access to a copy of a video put out on the subject thanks to Beadrou and feel confident that I can make this work.
I'll start a new thread when I begin!
