Got an inline (I know, I know) donated by a guy that was an old Tradtions Buckhunter in .50 cal. I needed to get a tool to use to remove the nipple and breech plug so i send an email to the same lady that had been helping me out with WB's Hawken. She is sending me a tool for free and asked about the boys Hawken, too.
Very nice folks there.
This here's General Discussion -- mention of inlines shouldn't get you in too much trouble.
I take a pretty open-minded attitude toward the unholy things. As long as the inline shooters don't start in on me on the inferiority of my sidehammers, I practice live and let live. I've known several inliners who converted to the True Faith after having the chance to do some serious shooting with conventional caplocks and even flinters, and the fact is that even in their misguided state they're still fellow shooters and don't want their guns taken away any more than we do ours.
I still like the "traditonal" guideline of this site, though. Without it, before long those of us with the ol' fashioned guns would be lost amidst all the posts about sabots, synthetic stocks, and smokeless powder. There are already enough other "muzzleloading" forums that are basically useless to me -- this place has been a real blessing.
Oh, and, yeah, I've always heard the Traditions folks were good to deal with.
Inlines bad as immeegrints ....spitt'

I discurage their use as much as possible at the shoots.............thisun is pretty dang old, too still uses a #10 cap, the bolt action style.......
The few inlines that Mission outdoors owns set al by themselves in the corner away from the real guns...

I prefer a sidelock or better yet a flintier (don't own one yet saving up) I have a buddy that is low income he found a rust bucket Knight in-line for 25.00. We soaked the barrel and polish it out. We have been shooting my cast balls and 300gr Real bullets in it and having a good time with it. I would not mind having one if it was cheap enough.

well as much as none of you like to talk about them, I own an in-line.......its a fine shooting rifle made by a very good gun maker..........BUT I also own a caplock hawken rifle that is made by that same gun maker and shoots very well I actually have killed half a dozen or so deer with the hawken and have had way more than that run off when the gun went pop and no boom. I have not killed anything with the in-line but I plan to this year. And some time in the near future I hope to get a black powder pistol!!!
