Title: I'll Start
Post by: heatherhistorian on March 03, 2009, 04:37:28 PM
Ya'll know me well by now.  haha!  I portray a Wichita woman at our local events, because during the early 1700s there would have been very few if any white women in Kansas/Oklahoma.  I can not be exact in my interpretation because Wichita Women did not wear much, but I do the tatooing, brass arm bands and such.

If I am going to a rendezvous where I can be a white woman, I am a poor French woman.  This way, I can just wear a man's shirt, which I made and embroidered and I found a really loosley spun old looking fabrick and I wrap it around my waist and tie it with hemp rope.  I can wear my moccasins and leggings from my other outfit and away we go!
