what kind of beads would be correct for 1830s
also is this to big for possibles bag approx 9 by 11
trying to finish my first bag do not know what kind of strap to use.
help me out fellas. kinda at a stopping point gettin aggrivated.
Where are ya tryin' to to put the beads? that would determine what kind to use. Good job on the bag from what we can see of it. It's not to big for a possables bag, a touch big for a shooting bag,though I doubt anyone would say anything.
As far as the strap goes,You can use the same leather as the bag or some type of woven material,Either would be good. Stopping when getting agravated is the very best thing to do in any situation!

Meanwhile,back to the question, I've seen everything from Chevrons to white hearts and tin or brass cones strung on the fringe. I like brass cones on the end of the fringe myself, buddies tell me it scares the game in the woods. At 6'2" and 230lbs,I ain't exactly stealth,even in wet grass! Would try to cut the fringe a little thinner though,to make stringing whatever you chose ta use easier to get on. You can see some beads and cones at the end of the straps on the bag for my trade gun towards the top of the bag. Don't know how to zoom in,can barley post pic's!Let us see it when your done.

found some glass pony beads a freind has think ill use those where can i get a strap all i have around is some buckskin and heavy leather, to heavy for strap.
any suggestions?
Jo-Ann fabrics has woven cotton straps you could use,in the 1" to1 1/2 would be good.
Wal-Mart usually has some nice stuff to use as strapping as well...
