Title: Prayer for my brother
Post by: Pete Stines on February 09, 2009
Please say a prayer for my brother Paul. He's facing a messy divorce, he's got bills he can't pay easily, he's lost his job and not much prospect for a new one. (He's 56 year old, retired military 22 years) Doctors say he' showing signs of manic depression. We're helping all we can. Thank You!

My brother Paul died in Seattle Washington Oct. 20, 2009. Cause of death was hypothermia and was ruled an accident. He was cremated and his ashed scattered. Sad to say we got extremely poor treatment by the medical examiner and by the funeral home that handled him. They refused to provide us with a certified death certificate and gave us the run-around. And the Veterans Adm. was of NO HELP at ALL! When are veterans going to get the help and respect they deserve ?

really sorry to hear of this , your family has my fullest sympathy ! and you are right about the treatment of veterans in this country , I knew an old world war II veteran who was my neighbor , he died one cold february night when his fire went out in his wood stove ,never woke up ! the police ,and veterans administration never even tried to find his family . they cremated him ,and dumped the ashes on the local landfill ! hell of a way to treat someone who put their life on the line for their country !

Our prayers going out to you and your family....

launch a congressional investigation... your senatorial or congressional rep should be more than willing to find out the facts... It is their job to see that our Vets get the respect they deserve when they pass... Also check with the VFW (if he was a combat vet) or the American Legion... they are very helpful organizations to vets and their families
