Here's my 2 favorite flinters.

My 3rd Model Bess .75,

and my Southern Mountain Rifle in .50.

Both great shooters, as long as I do my job!  hdslp

Have a good day all,

The Bess is one of the India made ones from Middlesex Village. The stock was very chunky and I had to disassemble it and thin out the stock and refinish it.

Now there have been some reports of these bursting but I think it is more operator error as mine has had 50 plus rounds through it with no issues.

Pretty good guns for the low cost in my opinion.

Y'all have a good day as I am off to work.  :'(

What charge of powder do you use in it?

The Bess takes 100 grains of 2F with a .735 ball, no patch, or it will take 80 grains 3F or a.715 ball with a lubed patch.

The .50 likes 70 grs. 3F and a patched .490.

Thank ye kindly Pitchy.

I have fallen in love with your earlier firearms. They are the coolest! ;D
