Title: 1959-1863 Armi Sport Sharps Cav Carbine .54 paper Cart.
Post by: Smokin_Gun on December 09, 2008, 08:05:31 AM
Who's got one with a .550" x .535" Bore  or simular. .540" Maxi's slide thru the chamber and out the barrel. What mould/bullets do you use? I'm lookin at a .557" Rapine Mold Sharps Boolit and tryin' to find a dealer to order from.
Here's the chart from Rapine: http://www.ch4d.com/catalog/?p=88

Any info will be appreciated.

[conf] The Boolits I have ended up with as bein' about the best and most correct are the # Bullet-54-Sharps .557"stepped for Sharps chambers 435gr conical with a tail.
Looks like the Rapine bullet in the pic

Rapine has stopped taking orders. Might check NEI before they're gone.

SG, I was using the Lee full-sized 54cal minie in mine( hollow based). I sold it with the rifle to Krash a while back, might want to contact him. I liked the fit, even without paper on it.

Thanks Thumper, but these the # Bullet-54-Sharps .557" stepped for Sharps chambers 435gr conical with a tail, are the bullets I need for my Sharps to shoot acurately to the ranges I need to put um out there at.
I can get Steve Brooks to make me a mold to any specs I want. Cost about $150 for a custom mold.(Steel)
The .540" minnies in mine were too small and a hair light in weight for what I wanna shoot.(.550" chamber). I prefer the measured paper carts to pourin' powder in the breech.(consistancey)
Got the boxes at Track of the Wolf. I'm gonna get some more for Christmas for me own self :O)
