Most of the time my powder charges are already measured as are my shot charges.  I keep a small flask in the bag for priming.  I used to carry a horn on the right side above the bag.  But I found that I was carrying enough powder, shot, and ball for a 3 month trek away from all civilization.  While a nice thought, I was only going to be in the field for the day and might shoot 4 or 5 times, less when deer hunting.  I didn't need to be carrying a pound of powder and 5 lbs of lead.  Even carrying only enough for about 10 shots I never came close to running out.  :-&  :qz:  ROFL  (love the new smilies!)

I carry my horn on my left side, bag on the right.  I'm predominately right handed and like to rumage around inside my bag with my right hand.  I pour from the horn with my left hand.  Also wearing the horn on the left side keeps it away from anything hot coming from the lock/nipple when firing the rifle.

Good thinking, but if you were shooting a flinter and using the same horn for priming, where then?

With the help of Tom and Leathermonger it's almost easy.
And it was hard for me to believe how it is done but lets just say it involved a fire and fish fryer

In my pocket Ned. She's got a handy spout, light weight, water proof. Really wanted an old medicine bottle but this'll do.

That's some of that double f Pioneer powder Ned. We got high humiditty 'round here so maybe that bottle will keep it from clumping. Speaking of clumping, it kinda looks like cat litter don't it? The smoke smells funny too.

Yup! But it sure burns clean...ideal for revolvers.

Do you get consistent results with Pioneer in revolvers? My cheapo CVA 50 loves the stuff but I haven't worked it in anything else.

Very consistent...and you can shoot all day and cleanup takes almost no time. Stuff does clump, stinks, and ...like you said...looks like cat litter. Wouldn't use it except in a revolver....but it's a major time saver there.
