Title: Lube comparison
Post by: doggoner on October 27, 2025
This is someone's lube test results using his favorite lubes. The 3-1, 4-1, 5-1 are one part ballistol and the rest is water. I found it interesting as I have used 6-1 as a lube. i see his results in his gun found 3-1 and 4-1 better. My method is soak the patch material in the lube goop then let it dry. The water evaporates and the ballistol is left behind. It is not sloppy wet that way.

My favorite everything lube is Hoppes BP Lube.  For hunting I liked TOtW mink oil.  But they no longer carry it.

I still only use spit. It works and it annoys some of the people I shoot with.

Is it the spit that annoys them?

We say "spit", but in reality I think it might just be drool.

Eventually everyone will reach a point where they dry up.  If you take certain drugs they can aggravate the situation.  When I first started I used sp__ DROOL
