I notice there is still no line forming for posting on here. Question: Why is it important at all if we go offline and the site disappears? Would anyone notice before the years end? I don't enjoy dropping by here like I use to.
Out here there seems to be an overall lack of interest in muzzleloading. Or should I say a decline in interest. Outside of all the draconian useless new firearm rule that are being heaped upon us, that are making it almost impossible to enjoy shooting, all the black powder clubs within 100 miles of me have been disbanded. With the wildfire anxiety going on, muzzleloaders get banned from public lands about the middle of June.
I'm still around, but unless I have something to post there isn't enough activity here to do more than check in a couple times a week.
Spring Rendesvous will be in Sterling Oklahoma in a couple of weeks but most of the people on this site are too far away to come. We do have enough shooters to keep the club going.
We are in trouble, I will admit it. COVID and a general lack of participation is hitting us hard. I went to WOOl-A-ROC for 1 day this spring and saw a beautiful sight... over 150 camps set up, but no one was at the range the day I was there, the price of powder, and the fact that most of the people I saw were there to camp and see old friends took precedence over the traditional events... and now the current Booshway is adding Highlander games and taking some of the others out... I hope to get to go to fall event, but I am still the only one at the museum... so may not get to go...
I don't know how the other sites are doing but I did see some posts about some of the other events in Oklahoma having attendance and staffing event issues. On the bright side there was a post from one young couple saying they came for the first time and had a blast and would definitely be back... We just need to get out and talk to the younger generation and get them involved... post you pictures on facebook and X and those other sites and tell them what fun you used to have... Save the tradition!
"Lack of posting activity" is probably the easiest and quickest defect to fix. One does this by POSTING!
We shouldn't just drop by and say, "well, Joe Smith hasn't posted and none of the others either". So post and Joe and the others get one-upped. The English language is quite broad and coming up with a few words about something shouldn't be that hard.
If you are in the left coast prison like bro. hotfxr, make something up to post. Jokes, stories, anecdotes, aspersions, regular spersions, lies, truths, tall tales, short tales, you get the picture. If you're not in that prison post anything else.

I used to peruse the posts by clicking on "show unread posts since last visit" to pull up an update of the latest.
That feature does not seem to be working. I get a message of "no unread posts since last visit", so I assumed that no one was posting anything at all. But looking at the individual pages, I see there have been some recent posts.
Something is definitely wrong in Denmark.

From the home page scroll down looking for green diamonds on the left side and then click on the right side where it shows the latest post.
Yes, this problem is making it difficult for anyone who is looking for activity on the site.
I am looking into it... give me some time... I know mine is working .... There are some settings which can cause it not to work...
My only problem (on this forum) has been pictures. I don't seem to be able to see at least half of the pictures that are posted. And due to only having an IPhone to take pictures with that doesn't play well with my Civil War Era laptop, I quit trying to post any.
Has the picture posting issue been fixed?

Yes, the main thing is for us all to stay in contact. Easy to do simply by typing a few words that we all can read. Campfire has been gone for a while and a few others have slow activity.
