Title: FWIW
Post by: Hanshi on November 22, 2023, 08:35:06 PM
We had a good snowfall last night but it started raining this morning which melted most of it.  Sick of rain!  It's time for snow and NO MORE RAIN!

Just thought I'd mention this.  Myself, along with some of you, have been having "health" issues of more or less concern.  I've been going to a PT program for Parkinson's sufferers the last few weeks.  The lady therapist is a joy and really worked me hard.  There are only a couple more sessions and it will end for the present.  While my diagnosis is still tentative there is also major neuropathy at work.  I know we've shared our problems here and I remain optimistic.  The program has made a world of difference and I've improved a great deal in walking, movement, etc.

I've done PT before but this program was a game changer!  Even if I don't have Parkinson's the benefits of the program have gone way beyond that.

I think it's a good idea to search around to see if any similar program is available in your area.  Best of health and a happy Thanksgiving to you all, my brothers.

Jim, It is challenging and helps with balance, which is my main problem, but it is nothing  difficult or straining and they watch you like a hawk so you don't fall.  My balance will always be bad and still interfere with life.  But these type programs will encourage you; it's not just regular PT it's specific for PD & related ills and the therapists are specially trained for it.  I'll be talking with you before long with more info.
