Our 10 year old grandson is staying with us for the next 2 weeks. He loves to shoot and go hunting.
On Wednesday I taught him how to load, shoot and clean a muzzleloading rifle. I have a CVA Bobcat that I cut the stock down on to accommodate a kid. I carved out a wooden plug, glued it in the plastic stock and attached a padded recoil pad. He did everything right after the 2nd try.
I loaded a reduced load of 50 gr. of 3F GOEX with a .490 PRB. He hit the bullseye 3 X in a row from 20 Yards. The next day he wanted to shoot again so I reminded him that he had to clean it afterwards. That changed his mind. He got his BB gun instead and shot it at my archery targets.
Kids will be kids. &)
2 weeks to enjoy the Grandson whether he shoots the BB gun or the muzzleloader?
Sounds like a good time!
