Title: Spring Rendezvous
Post by: flintboomer on April 26, 2023, 09:13:13 PM
2023 Beaver Creek Freetrappers Spring Rendezvous:

It was a cold spring day and we only had 18 shooters at the Spring Rendezvous but those who came had a good time . My nephew finally beat me, he took first place overall with some very nice shooting. I had put a tie breaker into the rifle match and since we both shot 100% with the rifles he won that with the tie breaker and he did better than I did in most of the other events.

Events available were:

Novelty shoot (paper)
Rifle
Smoothbore
Pistol
Knife and Hawk
Fire starting
Archery

Just a final word:
14 year old Caley (I hope I got her name right because my ears aren't what they used to be.) got her first rifle and got it too late to enter, but we helped her get started shooting it.

Wol-A-Roc will be April 12-14th and unfortunatly I will not be attending... I have to run the museum this year and so will be in Muskogee not Bartlesville.

Results from the 2024 Beaver Creek Freetrappers 2024 Spring Rendezvous:

We shot rifle, pistol, smoothbore and novelty plus knife and hawk and fire starting.
Rain was forecast and we did get some light rain but it wasnt a bad day overall.
Participation was light, we only had 11 shooters.

Overall:
Chris D 1st
Ron D 2nd
"Doc" 3rd

My nephew beat me on almost everything but I came in 2nd except for knife and hawk which I somehow won.
It was a good day.

I've only been to two (2) rendezvous in my life and was there for just one day.  Fun?  YES!.  I shot in the woods walk event and bow & arrow shoot.  These things are much fun.  I'll never likely go to another one, it's just beyond my ability now to be that active.
