To our severe detriment printed news and true journalism are dying out. People haven't been taught to read for their news. Instead they get lies, disinformation and propaganda from talking heads/idiots on TV and on line. Newspapers are our last bastion against falsehood.

Every newspaper is slanted toward a viewpoint. The NY Times is definitely liberal and endorses Democratic politicians, same with the Washington Post. Both are anti-gun and pro- PETA.
as for reading I know high school grads who read at a fourth grade level , and they got good grades , reading is being phased out , and by the end of the century will be discouraged unless it`s for your occupation, bradburys fahrenheit 451 , like orwells 1984 were prophetic , and warnings of what can and likely will take place , and do disregard soylent green , the left has been pushing the idea for the last three decades ,and if they get their way it will become a reality , they`re already testing growing human meat in the lab ! this is nolonger the world I was born in , but a quickly approaching dystopian nightmare ! I`m glad I have no children of my own !
