Title: Possible sad news
Post by: Hanshi on July 29, 2022, 08:04:50 PM
Our furry baby is being seen by the veterinarian and will be there a few days.  His condition has deteriorated and the time to make a decision may be near.  We will be notified of the vet's finding and decide what to do.  We've done this too many times in the past and it never gets any easier.  I hold out hope he's got more time but that's a longshot.  Brutus is our child and we have given him a comfortable, loving home.  :'(

So sorry. We're on our fourth from a shelter in 30+ yrs. I've held all 3 prior pups as they got their last shots and afterwards, bawled like a baby. You can really get attached to them. It can be like a member of the family. if the quality of life is gone, it's time to let them go. But you will have fond memories.

I've always done that very same thing.  The veterinarian has Brutus for the rest of the week.
She called us today and said he was doing much better in the office which has AC.  She believes much of his lethargy and other problems can be blamed on the heat.  His apatite is back and he's active again.  It's not suppose to be hot in Maine!  We are pretty well shaded and window fans so it stays "comfortable to tolerable" on most days.  But Georgia Crackers like us grew up in "SHO-NUFF" heat; and furry Brutus could not survive in the deep South.  More later.

Sounds like it could be good news. Need to get yourself an AC for unit for your pup.

Dogs are better than people. Regardless of what you say or do, they still love you and never judge you.

He does much better in AC, that's for sure.

Got a call last night from the vet.  She said it was time for me to come and say goodbye; I am devastated.  Went up this morning and got my final full face wash.  It can be very hard to keep it together.

I've been gone, now I'm back for a bit.
Found a picture that sums up my feelings about my fuzzy companions.
I miss my dogs more than I miss any human in my life.

Although I am not a dog or cat person they do become part of your family and it is a huge loss when they go. Of course you miss them, it is normal and something would be wrong if you didn't miss them.

Oh, man what a picture of grief and that's the way I feel about all of them and Brutus, of course.  I still dream about ones that have been gone since the 1970s!  Only a hand full of humans have meant more to me than than my little babies.

Beowulf, I'm right with you on that!
