Title: #11 percussion caps
Post by: flintboomer on September 30, 2021, 03:11:44 AM
For anyone who lives near an Acadamy store they have #11 percussion caps for $5.99.
I don't know how long they will have them or how many they have but as of 9/29/21 they have them in stock.

My academy has them too. Just two weeks ago they had them for 4.99. They also have the best price I have found on .490 balls at just under 12.00.

Several years ago I ordered a brick (1,000) of #11s for my .45 Mongrel "rugrat".  I must still have 8 or 9 hundred left at this time - CCI magnums.  Already had a handful of older caps from waaay back.  Can't recall the price but it was less than what one can find these days.  Also had a small supply of musket caps and then came into three tins full.  I do shoot my two capguns just not all that much.  I'd call my cap supply very good.  My flint sparkers do 95% of my powder burning.

was getting my caps from a muzzleloading shop in westminster md , the owners name is Bradley Vosburgh, that was in 78 , still in business but about to retire , the shop is now on old bachmans valley road , just outside of westminster ! good guy to deal with , unfortunately as I said he`s fixin to get out , and his boys have no interest in taking over the business ! has everything from original pieces to standard store bought and some full custom rifles and fowlers , also handles modern rifles and does gun smithing !  he`ll be missed when he finally closes shop ! there`s nothing like it in the area at all !
