In case you haven't heard, the Golden State is now the Dry Brown State. We are in, as they say, an extreme drought. What does that mean to shooters? I called around today and all public outdoor ranges are closed. Black powder is banned at the three private ranges within 90 miles of me. Fish and Game told me they would not allow black powder during the upcoming hunting season which will start in September. Just when it will get really hot and dry. In the last 5 years literally 10% of California has gone up in flames. We have been evacuated at least once a year since the Tubbs fire of 2017. I just wish Hanshi would put that California shaped Voodoo doll away and let us have some rain. pnic
Mother nature is just telling you that you have been messing with her too long.
Been extremely dry here as of late. Did get a drop of rain last night. All around us got a good shower, we only got a dust settler. I guess we been paying the preacher to much.
It hasn't rained here in over 3 weeks. Temps in the 90s every day. The cows are eating oak leaves and bushes. And my garden looks sick .. even with irrigation.
The cities around here have banned sprinklers running or pool filling. I live in the country and have a well so that doesn't apply to my place.
My back yard looks like a jungle - 3 1/2 inches of rain this week alone here in Oklahoma... Come and take it ... June is usually one of our dry months, I just need it to stop raining long enough to get the canvas out and set up for photo activities and for sale adds if/when that time comes.... Still can't shoot or put much pressure on the neck/shoulder area
rain started friday , not expected too let up until sometime sunday ! here in the east an actual drought is a rare thing ! we`ve had a couple of minor ones the last ten years , but I have`nt seen a serious drought since 1963 ! you had to ask for water when you went to a restaurant, it was a long hot miserable summer , and a cold snowy winter followed it !
