Title: Shot Loads
Post by: Hanshi on October 08, 2020, 09:09:26 PM
I've tinkered with a few shot loads but but have yet to come up with a definitive shot load for taking turkey.  Rifles are verboten, only smoothbores allowed.  I have available to me #6 shot only; my other sizes & supply are still in Va.

My smoothbore is a .62 (20ga) and a 38" bbl.  Any suggestions?  Also what loads do you like and shoot.

I'm relegated to using shot if I want to hunt turkey here in Maine.  That's about the only thing I'd care to hunt with shot.  I don't hunt ducks or other birds so shot is not as important for me except for turkey.  But I do shoot ball in my smoothbore and it collects deer just as good as a rifle.
