Title: What lubes you been using
Post by: Hanshi on August 19, 2020
Lots of lubes around; some make their own and some buy the "ready-to-go" stuff.  For those "moose milk" users, here's where it comes from.

It would be amiss for me not to show MY favorite lube for hunting, mink oil.  I would NOT want to be the guy that has to squeeze them for that oil.

Had one of those little white rascals around my cabin back in 1976.  Our fat little chipmunk disappeared about then.  No more pouring cat food out of our boots in the morning.

I believe you have photos of weasels rather than minks. AFAIK, minks keep their color year-round. Weasels become "ermines" when they turn white in winter.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long-tailed_weasel
" In northern areas in winter, the long-tailed weasel's fur becomes white, sometimes with yellow tints, but the tail retains its black tip."

I just use cheap vegetable or corn oil. It doesn't freeze here very often .... less than once / year.

I'd suspect that weasel oil works pretty good, too.  [hmm]

I think we should all use weasel oil obtained from some freshly squeezed politicians.

I'd buy it in bulk!

Otherwise it's TOW mink oil for hunting and Hoppes #9 BP Lube for informal shooting.

The best results is to grind them first, press and let the goo settle. Skim the oil from the top and use the settlings for fertilizer. The yield of fertilizer is way more the oil and is where the real profit is. Politicians are full of bovine feces and a grand source for organic fertilizer. Just one man's opinion of course.
