Title: How to I fix a leaking horn?
Post by: rusticbob on January 05, 2020
I just picked up a nice small powder horn at an antique shop. When I blew into it there was a small air leak. Horn looks good, no cracks, butt plug looks correct, is there any way to pour someting inside to seal it befor I put powder in?

The first thing I would try would be to press some bees wax between the bottom plug and let it set for 24 hours and see if that fixes the problem

Find where the leak is, pour in some Elmer's carpenter glue, the yellow kind. Give it a bit to run down to that area then blow just enough to force it into the leak.

I use bees wax and a heat gun. Simply press the wax into place and slightly heat it up and press some more.
