Having more compassion than brother Hawken50, I say list your must-have 5 guns if that's all you could end up with. If you don't own at least 5, get out there and start looking! chrrs
5? That makes it a lot easier.
1. My .45 caliber Issac Haines tribute flintlock with 42" barrel that I (hopefully) will get back on and complete.
2. .36 Caliber Mongrel made Lancaster caplock.
3. Mongrel made CVA caplock mountain rifle in .45
4. Ted Hatfield .50 flinter with 39" barrel
5. Lyman GPH flinter in .54.
Note to my Northern brother Dogshirt, sorry about the flintlocks, but I have been working on a couple of large ranches and there is a lot of fencing to tighten. [hmm]
I'll step in now.
1. The .45 Lancaster flintlock.
2. The .62 smoothbore.
3. The .50 early Lancaster/York/youth rifle hybrid.
4. The iron mounted .36 SMR
5. The fine Euroarms .54 US 1841 "Mississippi" rifle.
If I could have more than five I'd add those five of hotfxr's. :mini-devil-28492:
My .45 cal. custom Carolina flinter
My .44 CVA Mongrel 'shorty' percussion
My .50 Sile Hawken
My SxS 12 ga. CVA shotgun
My O/U .50 cal. percussion rifle
OH, and 2 handguns:
My Ruger Old Army
My .45 Patriot pistol
Ok now you say I can have 5. OK
36 cal. flint
50 cal. flint
54 cal. TC with 12 ga. barrel
62cal.yeger
10 ga. sxs
Now what should I do with the other 20 + blah
5 will do in a pinch! But I prefer one for every day of the week, just like underwear!
Speaking of underwear, we who enjoy the black powder shooting sports can thank the ladies of yesteryears for their old expression used to denote....unmentionables.
While they may have been talking about their under britches bloomers we use their term stealthily to hint at breech loading boomers! 'shok'

Yes if you sign on as her. blah blah ;D
Closer to 25, but wife would like me to sell a few. Did give my daughter an SKS last year, but don't think it would muzzle load very well.
If they have to load from the muzzle???
.40 Lange Lancaster flint
.54 TC Renegade
TC Hawken with .40 GM drop in barrel
.44 percussion revolver. It doesn't actually load from the front but close enough.
A flint pistol
These aren't "must haves" but "haves". I'm done gathering them and this is what I've left.
.77 Club butt
.65 smooth rifle
.62 Fowler
.55 smooth rifle
.50 full stock Hawken flint rifle
.40 rifle
.32 rifle
.36 smooth cap pistol
I've given 7 long guns to my grandchildren, too.

I used to have an SKS but sold it before we moved. Never could figure out where the flint was supposed to go, anyway. [hmm]

sniff! alas the jug has seen better days... Doc said I needed to give it up except for a small snort during Rendezvous... That and to be honest I don't enjoy it as much as I used too...
My yet to be completed 20 gauge flint trade gun. 2. My Mongrel made .54 cap lock, 3. My .50 Bown rifle, caplock by Mogrel, 4. .54 Early Virginia flintlock rifle by TVM and last year's birthday present, a Pietta 1858 Remington paired with two cap & ball cylinders plus this year's birthday present, a Taylor's conversion cylinder in .45 Colt (not to be exceed 950 fps full lead cowboy loads).
If the revolver is not allowed then my .32 Crockett rifle in it's place.
