tried something a little different this time, a screw barrel pistol build. Walnut stock, .45 cal. Ken Netting screw barrel. Chambers "Queen Anne" lock, commercial trigger guard. All other parts hand made. Still will do a little ageing and replace the wood test flint.
Woody thmbsup Nice Work! thmbsup
Another interesting and well done build. Thanks for sharing.
Never seen one before ... really neat.
It seems the object must be to clean the barrel easily, however, it would be better if the threads were closer to the lock for greater access.
If the purpose was concealment, then it succeeds admirably.
Here is a original that inspired this build, not a copy but based on this one. (credits John H. Bryan, Attorney at Law)
The purpose of the screw barrel was not for cleaning. Theses were primarily muff pistols, carried concealed, and had no ramrod. Unscrew the barrel, put powder into the chamber at the breech, place a ball (unmatched) on top of the powder chamber and screw the barrel into place. Prime or cap and put it in your pocket.
