Title: Tackle box find
Post by: hotfxr on November 25, 2016, 10:34:27 PM
After seeing that nice ball peen hawk by Rifleshooter2, I'm almost embarrassed to post this little knife story, but since there hasn't been a ton of activity here lately, I will forge ahead.  rdfce

While cleaning up the shop I found an old broken tackle box that I thought was empty. There was just a bunch of trash in it including a couple of old crusty knives.

I was just going to toss them with the rest but decided to see if they were worth saving at all. And you really can't have enough small knives rattling around in your shooting bag anyway, so I spent a couple of hours and this is what I came up with.

The razor is just there for size comparison. The picture doesn't show it but the top knife has a nice mirror finish, while I blued the blade on the bottom one. Right now they are both fairly sharp and are at home in a couple of shooting bags just waiting to cut some patches or cords or annoying whiners at the range. Being as they were free I will call them my Black Friday specials.

Hotfxr,
A while back a lady had a gun I wanted but she made me buy an old wooden box to get the gun. Took it home and found 3 complete wooden shotgun rods, a bunch of junk and 2 original Colt pistol flasks wrapped in an old mechanics rag. You just never know, I don't turn down to many old boxes any more.
