Title: new bag
Post by: beowulf on March 09, 2016, 09:14:08 PM
just finished this one , bag is made from deerskin and lined with the heaviest pillow ticking I could find , has a short fringe and a strap and buckle closure . strap is made from a thin piece of buffalo hide and braided hemp twine , has a scabbard and knife attatched to the strap at the front top edge of the bag .  bag is 7 1/2 inches wide by 8 inches deep , single pocket ! all hand stitched .

Nice looking bag. It should be big enough for all your stuff.
The ticking is good for reinforcing the bag but it sure is ugly. Keep the bag closed.   ;D

nice bag got me thinking about adding a knife to the haversack bag I made last year. i lined that one in pillow ticking too and it looks ok once it gets a little dirty but it sure helps the bag hold it shape

certainly does , I`ve used pillow ticking a few times , but this was the thickest I`ve seen , really like it . checked out wally world and hobby lobby , 13 bucks a yard , got it at jo ann fabrics for 7 bucks ! and have plenty left for other projects !
